Bonus extra info I found about the game + some stuff hidden in the files
The path to locate the game's files (on windows) is as follows:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dicey Dungeons
There are 518 pieces of equipment and 65 gadgets in the base game. 3 of the gadgets (hook, firebomb, flashbang) are unused.
By looking through game files, you can find a lot of interesting graphics and info! They’re not all found in the most intuitive of places, and certain enemy names are different in image file names. However, their overworld and in battle sprites can all be found in the files! The backgrounds for each battle location, map, and introduction panel are all accessible. A sheet of all contestants’ front, back, and side sprites is available. Cutscene backgrounds can also be found. Various animation stills for status effects, card backgrounds, popup backgrounds, text files, and more are all accessible with a bit of digging.
In the music files, the track “Against All Odds” is listed as “combat8jester.” This track plays any time Jester (enemy) is fought. It can also play at random, but serves as Jester’s unofficial theme in game. The track “Fortune Favors The Bold” plays when fighting Lady Luck.
The animations for the game are done in PCK, JSON, and ATF files, all of which manipulate static images to “wiggle” onscreen. Individual frames are likely stored inside these files, which I was unable to open on my own. None of the static images accessible are able to move/be animated in a similar game-fashion outside of the files.
Most of the static image files for enemies are found in the “animations” folder.
Thus far I have been unable to find static images of any contestant’s non-default expressions, Jester (announcer), Baby Squid (announcer), Lady luck (announcer/speaking to contestant and slides around the screen/expressions/end cutscene), or any of the shopkeepers. All of these appear to be placed in JSON/PCK/ATF files.
Lady Luck’s final boss form sprites ARE accessible.
There is an unused enemy called “invisible_man” who doesn’t have any static image files. Understandable, as they would be invisible. However, the other files are an ATF and PCK, so I can’t poke around further as to what this enemy was like.
And just for funsies, here's some templates I made to fill out various parts of the wiki!
