Fighting the Jester advances the game’s plot. They are first encountered during the game’s tutorial (Warrior’s first floor). They then have a chance to appear on the second floor for any unlocked contestant. When defeated, they become an enemy for the third, then fourth, then fifth, then boss floors. They can only be encountered once per run.
Upon beating them as a boss, they are unlocked as a playable character.
The Jester is a human with tawny skin, black eyes, a smug grin with a tooth gap between their front teeth, dark eyebrows, and short blonde hair in a bob cut. They wear a classic jester’s hat with two maroon sections and one orange section, each tipped with a yellow bell. They have an orange shirt that splits in two at the bottom with maroon buttons and triangular shoulderpads, a white collar, white puffy sleeves which are tucked into yellow gloves.
Interestingly, their overworld sprite has bright scarlet in place of all the orange in their battle sprite. All other colors remain the same.
Jester has a different loadout for each floor they're encountered on. They progress from floor 1 to floor 6, in order, and never go from a higher floor to a lower floor.
Jester is the only floor enemy that talks both before and after their battles.
Jester changes equipment every turn. As a result, it may seem like their equipment list goes on infinitely. However, this is not the case! For each floor, there is a list of their equipment for four turns. After reaching the end of the listed equipment, they cycle back to the first turn’s equipment and use them (in order) again. This repeats until the battle is over.

Upon defeating Jester as a boss, the wheel won't have anyone to spin it. Jester and the contestant that beat them have the following dialogue as they look at the empty announcer box:
Contestant:
"…"
"… uhhh"
"So, who’s going to spin the wheel now?"
Jester:
"No idea!"
"Not my problem anymore!"
"C’mon, let’s get out of here!"
After this cutscene finishes, Jester will no longer appear as an enemy, and is unlocked as a playable character.
Jester does not have a dungeon profile.
