Thief

Difficulty: 2/5 stars
Reason For Entering: wanted to win one billion dollars
Pronouns: he/him

Description

Thief is a green dice with dark green dots. He wears an eyepatch over his left eye and brown gloves and boots. He also appears to have braces. He carries a dagger with a wiggly blade in each hand.

He is the second contestant you unlock, after you win (or lose) one of Warrior's episodes. His strategy favors lower rolls, multiplying dice, and using an enemy’s cards against them.

He is very conniving and callous, focused on nothing but money and winning at first. He seems to soften up towards the others as the game progresses.

His standard starting equipment are a Dagger and Lockpick.

Limit Break / Special Ability

Thief’s limit break and special ability remain the same for episodes 1, 4, and 6.

His limit break, Unlucky Roll, allows him to roll four additional ones.

His special ability, Steal, allows him to use one random card from the enemy per turn.

Episode Details

Episode 1:
“Business as usual: get in, rob a few enemies, defeat the boss, get out.” Standard rules apply.

Episode 2:
“Get those pickpocketing fingers ready - this time, you're stealing for keeps.” You can keep enemy equipment after each fight.
Special ability is replaced with Finders Keepers. When triggered by adding enough dice, you can choose 1 card from the enemy's equipment to keep at the end of the fight. Triggering it multiple times per battle does not allow you to choose more than one card.
Limit Break is replaced with Hook, which gives the status effect “Re-Equip Next” (The next equipment you use can be used again on this turn.)
Rewards are the same as Episode 1.

Episode 3:
“On your first turn, all your dice roll 1. On your second, they roll 2. Third time lucky? Nope, third time you roll a 3.” On your first turn, all dice rolls are 1. Second turn, all dice rolls are 2. And so on.
Special ability is replaced with Uptick. Requires a die of the current turn's roll, resets all unused dice to the next highest number (after 6, restarting at 1). Using uptick does not get rid of burn.
Limit Break is replaced with Trips, which rolls 3 dice at the current roll.
Reward upon reaching level 3 is replaced with choice of Kunai OR Hall of Mirrors.
Reward upon reaching level 5 is replaced with choice of Backstab OR Hacksaw OR Upgrade Equipment.

Episode 4: The Elimination Round
“You've got your usual equipment, usual health, everything. It's a shame all your enemies have extra health and upgraded weapons.” Enemies get 10% extra health. All enemy equipment is upgraded. Standard rules apply.
Rewards are the same as Episode 1.

Episode 5: Parallel Universe
“Woah, everything's different!” Enemies get 10% extra health. Status effects work differently. All of the equipment has been changed.

Reward upon reaching level 5 is replaced with choice of Berlin Key OR Bronze Cauldron OR Upgrade Equipment.

Episode 6: Bonus Round
“Everything's back to normal again! Until you go down a floor - the further you go into the dungeons, the more the rules change...” Start with standard rules. Gain bonus rules as you descend further.
Starting equipment is replaced with choice of one card from 2 (or 3, if hard mode is available) of the following:

There are no level rewards other than Max HP and extra dice.

Backstage

Everyone else is too, of course - they're just lying about it."

”Sure, the dungeons are getting harder. Maybe someone weak would give up.
But this is a competition and I'm still in it to win it!"

Endgame Description:
"This is... tougher than I expected! If I don't win the billion dollars I'll have to sue for a billion dollars!
Wait, why is my signature on this liability waiver?"

Post Endgame Description:
"You know, I might not have a billion dollars, but if I find enough of those solid gold coins they'll be worth a whole lot in the outside world...”

Cards Used

Thief errs towards low rolling, low damage, status effect cards. One slot cards are common with him, as are poison, fire, and reusable cards. He cannot use other-contestant specific cards, and doesn’t have any that are ONLY his.
