Things that aren't enemies that appear in the overworld!
Apples are health restoring items typically found on dungeon floors. They can also sometimes be purchased in the shop. Usually they appear in one or more shops on floor 5.
Apples heal more HP the deeper down in the dungeons you go.
From episodes 2-6, the Rotten Apple can appear. Its overworld sprite is the same as regular apples on the floor, so be careful not to rush when going to use an apple.
The Blacksmith is Ned’s domain. It’s indicated on the overworld (and in certain level ups, as well as occasionally in the shop for purchase) by an anvil icon. In the Blacksmith, Ned can upgrade one piece of equipment for free. He also runs his copy service here.
Booster packs are exclusive to Jester episodes, and function somewhat like chests. Booster packs do not replace chests, but can be found along with them on dungeon floors. The player can take or leave the booster packs.
They contain three pieces of equipment- typically one that does damage, and two copies of a status inflicting card.
Here's what they look like at a larger resolution:
Chests are found exclusively on dungeon floors. They contain one piece of random equipment the player can take or leave. In Inventor’s second episode, Double Rubble, chests contain two copies of a piece of equipment. Chests are much more numerous for Inventor than other contestants.
From episodes 2-5, the Mimic can appear. Its overworld sprite is the same as regular chests on the floor, so be careful not to rush when going to open a chest.
This service is also ran by Ned. He can create a copy of one piece of equipment for free and add it to your backpack. This service is often provided instead of his upgrade service in episodes where having more equipment is beneficial. He runs it out of his blacksmith station, so it has the same background.

Exits are trapdoors used to progress to the next floor of the dungeons. They appear on every floor but 6. Once entered, the player cannot travel back to the previous floor.
The shop is run by Yolanda. Here, players can buy equipment, apples, equipment upgrades, and equipment copy services with coins earned from fighting enemies. Equipment is always offered in the shop. Other services (and apples) appear on lower floors.
The trading post is run by Val. Here, players can trade one piece of equipment for another. This piece is randomly selected from their current loadout, and there’s no way to change the offered item or selected item. Upgraded equipment will be traded for upgraded equipment.
